Zuvor hatte in K\u00f6ln klassischen Kontrabass bei\u00a0Prof. Wolfgang Guettler\u00a0(Berliner Philharmoniker) studiert. Martin Wind\u00a0unterrichtet an der\u00a0New York University und\u00a0Hofstra University.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In 1995 Martin came in third at the International Thelonious Monk Bass Competition in Washington, D.C.\u00a0In 1996 Martin Wind won the first Cognac Hennessy\/Blue Note Jazz Search in Germany with his trio \u201cDreikland\u201d and got to record an album for Blue Note Records.\u00a0In 2000 he was the first Jazz musician to win the Cultural Award of his home state Schleswig-Holstein.<br \/>\nSince his move to New York Martin has become a regular at all major jazz clubs and is also in demand as a session player; his credits include movies such as \u201cThe Alamo\u201d, \u201cIntolerable Cruelty\u201d, \u201c Mona Lisa Smiles\u201d, \u201cFur\u201d, \u201cTrue Grit\u201d and \u201cThe Adventures of Walter Mitty\u201d.\u00a0Currently Martin is a member of the trios of Bill Mays, Dena DeRose, Bill Cunliffe, Ann Hampton Callaway, Ted Rosenthal, as well as the quartets of Matt Wilson (\u201cArts and Crafts\u201d) and Ken Peplowski.<br \/>\nSince 2013 he has also been touring with Belgian guitarist and jazz legend Philip Catherine, playing material from their duo album \u201cNew Folks\u201d(ACT Records).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Martin Wind has recorded and\/or performed with the following artists: Guidon Kremer, Christoph Eschenbach, Mstislav Rostopowitch, Lalo Schifrin, Monty Alexander, Pat Metheny, Clark Terry, Mark Murphy, Slide Hampton, Toots Thielemans, Buddy DeFranco, The Metropole Orchestra, Radio Big Bands Cologne, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Berlin, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Eddie Daniels, Curtis Fuller, Phil Woods, Bud Shank, Johnny Griffin, Bucky Pizzarelli, Mike Stern, Larry Goldings, Johnny Mandel, Frank Wess, James Moody, Hank Jones, John Scofield, Sting, Ann Hampton Callaway, Michel Legrand, Mulgrew Miller, Ken Peplowski, Anat Cohen, Benny Green, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra and others.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kontrabassist Martin Wind ist im\u00a0Oktober mit dem Quartett von Anke Helfrich auf Tour, und steht\u00a0am 14.10.2015\u00a0auch f\u00fcr Einzelunterricht zur Verf\u00fcgung (Ort: Dr. Hoch\u2019s Konservatorium Frankfurt) Anmeldeformular nach dem Klick Martin Wind wurde in Flensburg geboren, und ging 1996 zum Studium nach\u00a0New York, wo er bis heute lebt.
